About Greg Ramer

I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and shaped by the culture of the American South. My childhood was full of fishing trips, mountain getaways, water adventures, and spending time with friends and family outdoors.

In high school, I felt called toward becoming a pastor—a dream I wouldn’t realize until my late 30s. In between, I worked a variety of jobs, got married, started a family, tackled $40,000+ in debt, and stretched a four-year college degree into twelve (insert the Tommy Boy joke here). Those experiences taught me to be a lifelong student, and I’ve never stopped learning.

A conversation with my dad marked a turning point. He once told me he thought I’d make a great teacher. At the time, I couldn’t see myself in a classroom, but years later, I realized teaching doesn’t have to happen there. With blogging, podcasting, photography, and video, I’ve found my own way to teach and share what I’ve learned—and what I’m still learning—with others.
