Dr. Alim called and was super happy with Emmy! She’s not had any de-sat episodes and is even exhibiting better head and neck control in the last 24 hours so she doesn’t need the neck roll for support. The doctor also thinks she may be able to tolerate the regular car seat at this rate, so they’ll hold off on the car seat test for a few more days to give her more chances to strengthen her muscles.

Emmy’s head ultrasound came back clear, as did the newborn screening for unseen genetic disorders like cystic fibrosis or thyroid issues. We’re specifically happy about the clear thyroid screening as that could affect growth and development if something turned up. The CMV should take a few more days to come back, the results are not in yet.

All in all, still shooting for discharge on Wed, Mar 22 but it’s looking very very positive that we’ll be better equipped with a stronger, healthier girl upon discharge. Praising the Lord!
